The Village of Palestine Department of Public Works maintains the community sewer system, streets, and sidewalks. Additionally, the DPW does a great job keeping storm debris cleared from public areas, picks up leaves in the fall, and plows snow from the main streets in the winter.

In their 'spare' time they pick up trash around town, empty the waste containers on Main Street, changed light bulbs in the Historic District, put up Christmas decorations downtown, mow the grass, clear sewer lines, paint street markings, and take care of the events sign along the highway.
